We want to spread mölkky in Japan to everyone, including men and women of all ages and people with disabilities, where all enjoy on the same field. With that in mind, we have aimed to popularize mölkky in Japan. It has been 10 years since I brought 30 sets of mölkky from Finland to Japan, and it is an honor to hear “We’re playing mölkky!” from Hokkaido to Okinawa. With the growth of mölkky in Japan, we have grown as well.
In many games and sports, it is difficult for children and adults, men and women, able-bodied people and people with disabilities to play together on the same field. Among them, mölkky is a sport that connects people and encourages interaction, such as being able to work together regardless of handicap, and enjoying communication even for the first time, regardless of occupation or background. In addition, mölkky has many attractions not found in other sports. The depth that requires both the skill of throwing mölkky and the precise strategy, and the fun that the battle situation changes every time you throw. Japan Mölkky Associaton has made every effort to make Japanese people aware of the attraction of mölkky.
As also stated in our goals, our staff of Japan Mölkky Association is promoting activities of mölkky with the slogan of 1) attracting and holding the World Championships in Japan, 2) Making mölkky a Paralympic sport, and 3) Creating environments where all generations, with or without disabilities can play together. With the strong desire that our activities will lead to the happy lives of each and every one, we will continue to push forward with all activities related to mölkky.
Thank you for your continued support and patronage.
